Knots: Hair, Mothers and Daughters
An exploration of the intimate ritual of hair grooming between mothers and daughters. A daily choreography where care and control become physically intertwined. Combining a purpose-built chair, a short film, interviews, and editorial research, the project reimagines this everyday ritual as a space for closeness, negotiation, discomfort, and connection. Hair becomes a medium through which beauty standards, emotional inheritance, discipline, tenderness, identity, and memory are passed from one generation to the next.
