Sobre este proyecto

Mycelium, a vast network of fungal hyphae has long been typecast as packaging or textile alternatives, greatly overshadowing unconventional future potentials. We are also at a turning point, one in which asks us to rethink our relationship with waste entirely. Living Seams sits at the intersection of living matter and man-made materials, using weaving as a tool for material recovery and pattern-curation. Colour and woven structure transform waste into a new design language, proving that bio-futures don't have to trade beauty for sustainability. Synthetic waste supports mycelial growth; mycelium binds back. Its limber form is resilient, and yet separates at the end of life. It turns accountability into agency, reframes waste as a resource, and prolongs a material's life. Once delaminated, the synthetic scaffold can be repurposed, and reactivated, supporting the next generation of growth.
